Trypanothione Reductase

It involves the study of inhibitors and their mode of inhibition of the enzyme Trypanothione Reductase (TR). TR is an enzyme unique to the trypanosomes, a group of protozoa that are responsible for a number of parasitic diseases including Chagas' disease and African sleeping sickness. Additionally, the project involves the design of novel screening methodologies for identifying active inhibitors from combinatorial libraries.
