Meltem Haktanıyan was born in Ankara, Turkey. She received her master’s degree in chemistry at Middle East Technical University. During her master studies, she worked on the synthesis and modification of temperature-responsive polymers. She investigated drug release profile of multilayer thin films of polyoxazolines produced via layer-by-layer technique with change of pH and temperature. Then, she joined the Bradley group for PhD in November 2019. She is currently working on synthesis of polycationic polymers for developing cost-efficient, simple and robust diagnosis of tuberculosis.
In her spare time, Meltem likes doing sports, dancing and travelling. She is also a legally licensed international Zumba instructor since 2018.
