I come from the state of Assam situated in northeastern part of India. I obtained my B.Tech (bachelor of technology) in Biotechnology from Sathyabama University, Chennai, India in 2013. I worked towards the production and purification of polyclonal antibodies against Tamm Horsfall Protein during my bachelors project. Thereafter, I joined Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Centre for Nanotechnology, in July 2013 as a PhD under GATE, MHRD funded fellowship. During my PhD I worked on multifunctional nanomaterials for theranostic applications and have obtained my PhD degree in August 2018.
I joined Bradley group in November 2018 as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the University of Edinburgh. My current research deals with 3D responsive biomaterials for biomedical applications ranging from 3D cell culture and bone repair to bacterial sensing/removal and biomarker mediated drug release.
