The Bradley Research Group is one of the leading Combinatorial Chemistry and High-Throughput Chemical Biology groups in the UK.

Combinatorial Chemistry is a rapidly expanding technique that allows large numbers of compounds to be synthesised in a time and materially efficient manner. These compounds can then be screened for the desired property (e.g. a new catalytic activity, enzyme inhibitor). Combinatorial Chemistry is now widely applied within the pharmaceutical industry as a means of identifying new leads (through random screens) and optimising the potency of feasible drug candidates (lead optimisation).

Chemical Biology is the application of chemistry tools to the resolution of biological problems and the development of new techniques bound on chemistry.
